Women at the Helm: Building Diverse, Lean Teams
Speakers:
Michelle Malone (Hospital Project Owner): A senior healthcare executive with a history of championing inclusive, collaborative project teams. Advocates for mentorship programs and Lean/IPD strategies to align healthcare missions with construction excellence.
Sarah Schettler (Trade Partner/PM): A mechanical engineer and inclusive construction leader with cradle-to-grave project experience spanning estimating, design, engineering, and people management. She currently serves as President of the Society of Women Engineers’ Santa Clara Valley Section and is an active advocate for industry transformation through her leadership roles in Bay Area SMACNA’s Women in Construction group and San Jose ASHRAE.
Laura Rodriguez (VDC Leader): A VDC leader guiding BIM coordination for a multi-billion dollar hospital in San Francisco. She oversees a team of coordinators and more than 80 design and trade modelers, driving automation and alignment across disciplines to meet critical permit milestones.
Bianca Harris (Architectural Leader): A licensed California architect and LEED BD+C AP specializing in health care design, with deep expertise leading large technical teams on long-duration projects under HCAI jurisdiction. A strategic thinker and devoted mentor, she balances future-focused planning with a continuous learning mindset to deliver lasting value for clients and communities.

Park on Level P5 of Millberry Union Garage (11 Irving Street)
Locate the nearest exit stairwell or elevator (signs and maps are posted at elevator lobbies and stairwells). Take the exit route toward Parnassus Avenue. Follow signage directing you to Helen Diller Medical Center at Parnassus Heights.
The ICDC Room is inside the 5th floor Millberry Union Garage.
Daily Parking Rate: $60 (parking is at your own expense).
Because of high parking costs and limited space, public transportation is strongly recommended.
Public Transportation: From BART - Take any BART line to Embarcadero, Montgomery, Powell, or Civic Center stations. Transfer to Muni Metro (N-Judah line). From Muni (N-Judah Line) Board the N-Judah Muni Metro inbound toward Ocean Beach. Exit at Irving Street & 2nd Avenue (right next to UCSF Parnassus campus). Walk up Irving Street to Millberry Union Garage / UCSF Parnassus campus entrance.
